Summary
Artificial intelligence is radically transforming the world of work and youth education in Europe, as it is increasingly used in both formal and non-formal education, ranging from chatbots to virtual reality for teaching media literacy. Artificial intelligence has introduced significant opportunities to support and optimise the activities of youth organisations and youth professionals.
- AI4YouthWork project aims to strengthen the capacity of youth professionals to harness the potential of Artificial Intelligence by equipping them with the competences and tools needed to integrate AI into their work. At the same time, it seeks to support young people in becoming confident, critical, and responsible users of digital technologies driven by AI systems.
Results:
- Research on AI competence needs for youth professionals, consolidating the findings of desk research covering existing AI competence frameworks, literature, and scientific studies, as well as focus groups with youth professionals in the four participating countries.
- An AI Competence Framework for youth workers, covering the key areas of competences, knowledge, attitudes, and skills required to effectively use and address AI in youth work.
- A digital catalogue of AI-related e-learning experiences targeted at youth professionals and tailored to support the development of each competence described in the Competence Framework.
- A mapping of free online AI tools that comply with the ethical guidelines defined by the European Commission’s High-Level Expert Group on AI and cover AI applications relevant to youth work.
- A collection of workshop plans aimed at promoting AI literacy among young people, encouraging critical thinking and the responsible use of AI.
