Summary

The Sparks project aims to develop a new method for game-based e-learning programmes and a distance learning platform that will allow vocational education and training instructors to autonomously create and manage innovative online learning experiences using gamification and enhance their learners' motivation and engagement in learning. Teachers will be able to create their own game-based tele-education programmes, choosing the template they prefer and supplying the platform with the information and learning materials they need to present.

The project and its expected results produce innovative strategies to address four of the main challenges facing teachers and vocational training instructors: increased drop-out rates, lack of digital skills and competences to use platforms effectively, insufficient experience in creating digital teaching content, lack of experience in e-learning and other effective pedagogical methods for distance vocational training.

The transnational dimension of the project and the cross-sectoral partnership will increase the quality and effectiveness of its results and provide teachers and educators with tools to prepare students for an increasingly integrated and globalised economy.
