Summary

NICE aims to ensure that positive steps are taken towards respecting diversity, equal treatment and equal opportunities regardless of individual characteristics and then to contribute to the development of inclusive workplaces and societies.

In particular, the NICE (Neutral and Inclusive Communication in Corporate Environments) project, co-funded by the European Union's Citizens, Equality, Rights and Value (CERV) programme, will be implemented over the next two years, bringing together a wide range of participants and experts in the field.

In the framework of this project, actions will be designed and implemented, aiming at integrating knowledge from experience at European level, in order to lead to the upgrading of existing and new diversity management strategies, incorporating inclusive and neutral communication policies in the workplace. Finally, through this project, knowledge and skills for enterprises will be developed, leading to the further development of self-awareness, organisational culture, and skills for working with diverse groups, with a special focus on Diversity Charter member enterprises.

In addition, it offers new and innovative training and capacity building programmes to existing and new signatories. The project responds to priority 2 of the call by introducing inclusive corporate communication as an integral part of any diversity management strategy, and building the capacity of for-profit and non-profit companies to effectively replace biased language with inclusive and diversity-friendly language.

The programme is implemented on 4 axes:

1) Mapping of the existing situation and knowledge development, 2) Development of training material, 3) Capacity building and mentoring, 4) Promotion of the Diversity Charter
