Περίληψη
The INSIDE-CoVE project presents a network of Centres of Vocational Excellence across six European countries. Greece, Spain, Germany, and Ireland serve as the main CoVEs, while the networks in Cyprus and Belgium are being developed as satellite CoVEs as part of the project’s expansion. The Belgian EU hub aims to strengthen the impact of INSIDE-CoVE skills ecosystems across Europe. The horizontal approach of the INSIDE-CoVE project emphasises three levels of curriculum development for the construction sector in Europe. At the digital level, it highlights the importance of data, software, and hardware skills, seamlessly integrating BIM as a universal language across various construction sectors. At the level of green practices, it incorporates aspects of energy efficiency throughout the building life cycle, embedding environmental sustainability and governance skills. The inclusion layer seeks to promote the well-being of the construction workforce by attracting social groups that are often overlooked, such as young people and women. This approach addresses challenges related to language, background, and experience, ensuring that educational materials are aligned with the European Pillar of Social Rights.
The national dimension focuses on the creation of skills ecosystems that promote local innovation, regional development, and social inclusion. A strong partner network is being established, connecting academia, industry, and the world of work. The international dimension is further reinforced by the shared interest of all four national CoVEs in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industrial ecosystem. βιομηχανικό οικοσύστημα.
The project aims to develop AEC skills at different levels and to reach a wide range of learners through an innovative MOOC delivered via the i-LMS platform. Its long-term objectives include promoting research on AEC skills within academic environments, increasing data and publications related to AEC skills and CoVEs by 30%, strengthening AEC-sector enterprises in CoVE regions by 20%, and expanding the pool of construction workers and AEC professionals in Europe by 10%.
