Summary
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the protection of forests and the fight against forest degradation and destruction by raising awareness and involving young people in their protection and increasing their skills in defending them. To achieve this goal, it aims to:
-Raising awareness among young people and European societies about forest destruction, its causes and consequences
-emphasise the need to protect forests and motivate young people to act in this direction
-introduce advocacy as a tool for young people to contribute to forest protection and increase the capacity of young people and youth organisations to intervene in this field
-Create a movement for forest protection and increase youth-led activities in the field
-increase cooperation and understanding between young people and organisations from different countries
Expected outcomes:
The project is expected to influence participants and other young people indirectly involved in the project, participants and other relevant organisations and local communities. The main expected outcomes are:
1.Increase young people's knowledge about forest protection and improve their volunteering and advocacy skills for this purpose
2. Increase the capacity of youth-related organisations to work in the field and bring about positive change
3.Movement for forest protection and qualitative and quantitative increase of projects and initiatives implemented in this field
4. Raising awareness among local communities of the need to protect forests
5. A set of materials and tools for structured youth-led action in the field and a document with policy recommendations.
In general, it is expected to raise awareness of forest degradation at all levels, as well as raise awareness among communities of the need to protect forests and the link between forest degradation and climate change. It is thus expected that a forest protection movement will be launched, a new generation of conscious and capable forest heroes will be born, people will challenge their own 'forest footprints', more and more organisations and institutions will take action to improve the phenomenon of forest degradation, increasing reforestation, forest restoration and forest activism and developing more targeted policies that will slow down the rapid and uncontrolled destruction of forests and lead to forest regeneration with all the positive effects that this will bring about for human health, climate change and nature.
