Summary

The ENHAGA-End Sexual Harassment in Gaming project aims to empower young girls and adolescents through actions to combat sexual harassment in online gaming.
The games industry has grown exponentially in recent decades. It is mainly aimed at young people who spend many hours playing. Recent studies have shown the gender dimension of "gaming" in terms of attitudes towards games. The time girls spend playing games is limited compared to boys, and as girls mature their participation in online games tends to decrease as a result of gender bias and sexual harassment. The study of "gaming" from the girls' perspective is a relatively unexplored area of research and female gamers often report incidents of harassment during online gaming. the project will include the dissemination of good practices as well as awareness-raising activities, including seminars and campaigns at local level and social media activities at international level.
Project outputs:
-development of an innovative information technology tool,
-developing an application to facilitate online reporting of cyber offenders,
-creating a guide to good gambling behaviour,
-creation of the ENHAGA e-book, which will be used as a reference for future training development, research and policy making.

Young men and women (teenagers and young adults) will be able to easily report instances of harassment and further prevention of harassment on the Internet, and players will be able to be trained in the use and application of the online rules of conduct through the Cyber Environmental Behaviour Handbook.
